What Matters Most

Hi Friend,

Normally I am sending a fun fall blog out, but I will be honest -- I could not even focus on that without first sending out a newsletter regarding the most recent events that have affected so many in several states as a result the effects of Hurricane Helene.

My heart just breaks to see how many ways people, families, businesses, hospitals, roadways and access to basic needs have been greatly affected. There are no words to describe the things people are going through. I have heard some terrible tragic stories, and some heroic stories. Many people up in the mountains are still very much stranded. Mule teams are going up into areas that are hard to reach.

It reminds me of hurricane Katrina and the devastation that came from that years ago.

Kiser Country Mercantile Drop off - Welcome, NC (near me)

You can find a drop off location that works best for you!

If can take the time to gather much needed resources and or donate funds to legitimate entities who are reaching out to assist those affected, please take the time to do so as soon as you can. Also, I know for many months to come, these needs will still continue to lean on resources from the kindness of others. This is a time our country can come together and join hands to work on what matters most - building up our hurting communities.

I am putting a few graphics with lists of items you can donate, as well as links for some ways you can donate. Please be sure to check out any sources as legitimate, as, unfortunately, this could be a time for scammers to be lining their pockets (sad to say).

Additional needs I have recently been informed of: Allergy Meds (the bees have also lost their home - bee stings are happening), wipes for sponge baths (flushable might even be better for the environment), chlorine tablets, socks, work gloves, and again, non-perishable canned foods and canned meats.

Here is a list of links/entities that are collecting, and options for donating funds (Thanks to Triad Mom's on Main Community Chat page:

Please donate however you can. Every $5, $10, $20, $100 can help tremendously. It will likely take years for this recovery to level off.

Remember, the more you give, the more people you help recover from this devastating loss. I am also donating a portion of every consultation I book through this year.

You are a blessing!

Warmly,
