Hi Friend!
I can't believe we are halfway through October! If you want to grab any fall decor at the stores - by now, you will possibly be hitting Valentine's day items on the shelves! If you hurry though, you may be able to grab the the last of the cozy, shiny, fun fall stuff.
I wanted to share with you some ways you can incorporate fall colors into your home - whether seasonal, or for year round. So, grab yourself your favorite "cozy cup" beverage and enjoy the read!
Some of us like neutral wall colors, and some of us like more color on our walls, but either way, you can always move some decor around from season to season without having to change up your wall paint color.
So, I'll just get on with some fall decor tips and share some lovely pics with the colors we adore.
Gold and orange make great accent colors, whether it be in a tablecloth, an accent pillow, table accessories, or gold pinecones. Have fun with these colors!
This lovely client's room needed a little "oomph" beyond the initial design of the blue sofa and other decor, and the pillows added that. The sheen on the blue pillow and the pleating on the terrific gold velvet retro pinwheel pillow add textural and visual interest. The room isn't really this dim, but the lamps cast a slight shadow onto the wall in the picture below.
The same client, who LOVES mid-century modern inherited her parent's dining room set. Here this little corner shows the warm wood against a neutral wall color, SW 9109 - Natural Linen. The navy sputnik print cushions are original, and I love the warmth of bringing the outdoors in with that lovely wood.
These green lamps below really add a finishing touch to another client's sofa table. Green is a fall color and even though the leaves are changing, you still see the colors of the evergreens and some greenery all around outside. She loves primarily warm colors, and we blended warm with cool to bring about a great space where her family and her grandson could enjoy the space with kid-friendly fabrics.
The same client brought out the green again with these lovely green vases by the fireplace.
This alluring dark blue paint color lends a great backdrop to furniture. Navy is considered a neutral. Blue is a color you see in the water and the sky outdoors, and it brings a sense of calm to any space. Some other fall colors can be spotted in these pics.

Sherwin Williams 7702 Spiced Cider below - is a modern color and it works so well with blues, as you can see. These colors can be used in accents as well.
Be sure to cozy up a space with blankets for fall. This soft chenille was the perfect throw and it wasn't too big for my living room (below). I found I had to order a few different orange ones to get the right color. I also love the fluffy multi-soft toned white one that is SO squishy and warm. Many of the pillows I pull out for fall are actually pillow covers I just change out for the seasons, as we have really downsized and our storage is limited. I LOVE the watercolor pumpkin pillows and the woven look lumbar pillow with the wood look buttons.
Another example of texture here. I may have gotten these woven pumpkins below at Hobby Lobby a year or two ago.
I could go on and on and show more projects, but I know you are busy! Just remember, colors such as red, blue, gold, green, tan, copper - these are colors you can incorporate into your homes through picture frames, texture, and so much more! Many items I decorate for fall with, I re-use every year, but I just move them around and change it up. You might be surprised at how little I actually shop for my own space - it's just being smart with your purchases!
I hope you have enjoyed reading this, and I hope you enjoy this beautiful fall weather.
Be sure to stay healthy and safe, and remember to be considerate of others. You may never know what someone is going through, and a little bit of grace can go a long way.
Warmly,
Your "Cozy Home" specialist!
